Volunteering

At Eastridge, we believe God wants us to have an impact on life. In fact, He tells us that we are created to have meaning. "God has made us what we are, and in our union with Christ Jesus He has created us for a life of good deeds, which He has already prepared for us to do." Ephesians 2:10

If you think about it, our lives take on greater meaning when we give service to others. That is why, at Eastridge Community Church, we are committed to making an impact in our community through authentic Christian lifestyles. We truly believe that living out our faith each day makes a difference. Service is one of the ways we live out an authentic faith. God has created us for a life of good deeds.

Good deeds include writing a note to a friend, helping at the local animal shelter or food shelf, teaching children about God's love, stuffing envelopes for a non-profit group, or using your skills to make a difference for someone else.

There are as many ways to serve as there are people to serve. God has made you, and He wants you to use your uniqueness to touch other people's lives.

Eastridge wants to help and encourage you in service. We believe that if you are willing to serve, there is a place to serve. Whatever your skills, gifts, talents, interests, or abilities, Eastridge will help you find a place to serve. At Eastridge, we want you to be realistic about the time you can give in service. We won't over-commit you. Service should be an enjoyable experience.

GETTING STARTED:
  • Start small.
  • Appreciate the principle of proven faithfulness. Do your best.
  • Give yourself enough time to learn the job.
  • Be responsible when leaving a service area. If things don't work out, give the program a reasonable amount time to replace you.
  • Learn about yourself from the experience. You may be the right person in the wrong position.
